We know that the diagnosis of a serious illness brings with it a myriad of feelings and that it can feel like you’re riding an emotional roller-coaster. Turning Point’s programs offer support and teach resilience skills to reduce stress and enhance overall well-being.
In the face of illness, people often have questions about practical issues such as Medicare and Medicaid, wills and advance directives. They may also be concerned about nutrition, and asking, “What can I eat NOW?” Our programs answer practical questions while giving sound, research-based information.
In the midst of illness it’s easy to think that creativity is a luxury. Our creativity-based programs allow people the opportunity to tap into a part of themselves that, often, they either didn’t know they had or had lost touch with some time ago.
Body movement programs are another integral part of our programs. Programs such as Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates have been shown to help participants reduce pain, lessen stress, help increase balance, flexibility and core strength and induce relaxation.
